In 1994 Baton Rouge, La., I walked into the doors of Burts Cason Inc (BCI), a design firm specializing in ceramics. There I was meet by Kay Cason, the owner, who handed me a several photos of an Italian columns and asked could I reproduce them on the potter’s wheel to create a lamp. It was a new experience technically and aesthetically, and over the years I became the main potter.
After moving to Louisville in 2002, I was fortunate enough to exhibit my work along side BCI at the New York and Las Vegas gifts shows. Years ago BCI closed and Kay Cason has passed away. But, I am deeply indebted to the aesthetics and creativity she shared with me.
